Suida: "This painting representing St. Dorothy / and St. Anthony the Abbot - on panel / 16 x 13 inches - is in my opinion / a characteristic work by Andrea / Bonaiuti da Firenze. / According to documentary / evidence Andrea di Bonaiuti was / active in Florence between the years / 1343 until 1377. / Some figures in the murals in / the famous Spagnoli Chapel at / S. Maria Novella, Florence - such as the Dialectic and Aristoteles in / the series of the Liberal Arts - show close stylistic connection / with the present painting. / W. Suida / New York, Sept. 9, 1944".
