Foto sup 2925, verso del supporto secondario: nota anonima manoscritta: "Cashel round tower. (caiseal = a stone fort). / This round tower is of sandstone with two bands of limestone. The stone are not large being / from 1/2 ft. to 2 feet length and from 6 inches to 10 inches. The masonry which is ashlar / is good but rather wide jointed. The tower is 80 feet high and of 5 stories. Its original / conical roof [...]. / Miss Stokes puts the tower into the second class".
