Foto sup 1509, verso del supporto secondario: nota anonima manoscritta: "This fine bronze come from a house in Pompei where it was found in 1805. It decored an interior coust as a fountain, and the deer has stile a pipe in its mouth. Its eyes and these of Hercules are of different metal from that of their bodies".
