Alle fotografie sono allegate due lettere. Nella prima, del 22 gennaio 2003, Francis Russell chiede a Everett Fahy il parere sul foglio; riporta quindi l'opinione di Paul Joannides che ritiene la Madonna sul verso di Fra Bartolomeo, aggiungendo però il proprio commento: "but surely it is too weak?". Nella seconda, del 12 marzo, Fahy risponde confermando il parere di Joannides ("[...] Joannides correctly connected with Fra Bartolomeo"). Precisa poi: "the design for the enthroned Madonna also appears in a sheet in the Berlin Printroom (no. 5140), which Berenson catalogued as an Albertinelli but which I strongly believe goes with the early Fra B. drawings I reintegrated in the Burlington back in 1966. [...] The motif of the Madonna with the blessing Christ Child on the verso of your sheet reappears in the Bartolomeo workshop Holy Family, which was sold at Sotheby's, London, December 6, 1995, lot 21."
