Foto sup 3111, verso del supporto secondario: nota anonima manoscritta: "One counts only 212 columns but each consists of 3 segments of shafts / one over the other. The cistern is about 200 ft by 170 ft. / It is probably the celebrated Cistera of Philoxenos built in Costantine's / time. It is quite half full of mud and is used by silk spinners".
